Universities have chosen consultants - Consid among the suppliers
Consid is one of six consulting companies selected when Gothenburg University and many other colleges and universities have procured IT consulting services. The contract has an estimated value of just under SEK 350 million.
– It is a great responsibility to be involved in developing and streamlining the universities’ IT systems. This contributes to improving efficiency, teaching and learning, research, security, and accessibility at our institutions, leading to increased innovation, competitiveness, and improved quality of education and research, says Peter Hellgren, CEO of Consid.
The new contract with Gothenburg University runs for four years and will include several universities and colleges in the region. In addition to Gothenburg University, around a dozen others have the right to call off on the project: Chalmers University of Technology Foundation, Chalmers Innovation Foundation, University of Borås, University of Skövde, University West, Halmstad University, Jönköping University, University Service in Jönköping, Jönköping International Business School, Jönköping Technical University, School of Education and Communication in Jönköping, Health Sciences School in Jönköping, and Jönköping University Enterprise AB.
The procurement is divided into three parts: IT project management, system development and management, and support. Consid will deliver IT project management, as well as system development and management.
– We have extensive and broad experience in delivering this type of services to universities and colleges, says Peter Hellgren.

Consid has previously collaborated with several universities on web production, system development, and IT project management. A completely new website was developed for the University of Borås to fit the new concept, design, and work method. With a very good result, a modern, efficient, and appealing solution was launched on the Episerver platform for editors and students, among others.
Consid has also contributed to the technical solution for compiling, storing, and making data available in a study that has become a milestone in Swedish medical research. The database contains health information in SCAPIS, which is intended to provide researchers with new prerequisites for better public health.
Consid was founded 22 years ago and has seen dramatic growth in recent years. In 2022, over 500 people were hired by the company, and offices were opened in both Germany and Denmark. The turnover for the full year 2022 is over SEK 2.1 billion – an increase of nearly 40 percent.
